- True, but the age and morphology of every new piece of fossil evidence falls right in line with what we expect, given evolution.
It bears mentioning that there are gaps in our evidence in other cases as well. Every once in a while the moons of Jupiter go behind it and disappear, yet no one thinks that this casts doubt on the laws of motion or the law of conservation of matter and energy.
